Project - Coal Outloading Facility. Location - Portbury Docks, Avonmouth. Value - £2.5m. Client - Balfour Beatty/Birtley. Contract. Fairport Engineering undertook the contract to design & build 2No. Carbon & Stainless steel silos for coal storage and bulk outloading. Each silo measured 60m x 12m diameter and has a volume of 2740 cubic metres discharging 7400 tonnes of coal per hour into train carriages below. Fairport Engineering was responsible for the mass flow design, structural steelwork and associated conveying systems. |
