Rotary Coating Drum. The Fairport rotary coating drum is designed for the addition of flavourings, sugar, syrup and nut coatings onto flaked cereal products. The speed of rotation and angle of inclination is variable and the internal face of the drum is fitted with tumbling bars which flip the delicate material as it passes through the drum. This process allows the optimum flow characteristic thus achieving an evenly distributed coating. The main frame is fabricated in mild or stainless hollow section complete with base plates for plummer block bearing assemblies. These support the two shafts carrying the trunnions. The drive shaft is powered by a variable speed geared motor unit suitable for manual adjustment giving a speed of 10 -30 rpm. The drum inclination is variable up to 7° from the horizontal. The complete assembly of drum and main frame is supported from the base frame fabricated from hollow section. The connection of the base to the main frame is by a pivotal assembly at the discharge end and by a hydraulic jacking arrangement at the inlet end. |
